The Holy Scripture, God’s inerrant Word, the Bible, explains that God loves you and wants to know you, befriend you, bless you, and save you from evil.  However, you currently are separated from God and His love.  The Bible states it this way, “God is on one side and all the people are on the other side”. (I Timothy 2:5)  Why are you in this situation?

You are separated from God either by active or passive rebellion.  Active rebellion is taking actions against God and others who have faith in Him.  Passive rebellion is simply ignoring God.  Both of these are sins.  The Bible states, “Your sins have cut you off from God.” (Isaiah 59:2)  It also states, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  (Romans 3:23) What is the result of this separation from God by your sin?

Separation leads only to spiritual death and certain judgment. The Bible states, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23) and “Man is destined to die once (physically), and after that to face judgment (spiritually).”  (Hebrews 9:27)  The Bible further explains that “Those who do not know God …will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord.”  (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).  However, God does not want this to happen to you and has made a way of escape.

Jesus Christ, literally God in flesh, came to earth with the express purpose of teaching us there is a way to personally know God and have our sins forgiven by Him.  Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins.  “Christ died for sins once for all … to bring you to God.”  (1 Peter 3:18) and “God demonstrates His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. (Romans 5:8).   How do you accept this way of escape from your sins and embrace the love of God?

You can personally know God and receive his love only by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.  “To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12).  Therefore, you must believe that He is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He will save you from certain judgment for those sins.

“For God so loved mankind that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”.  (John 3:16-17).

Will you pray now to Jesus and ask Him to forgive your sins, save you from judgment, and give you His gift of eternal life?  “God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son, He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”  (1 John 5:11-12)
