Christian Foresters Fellowship (CFF) is an international, non-denominational, decentralized Christian organization composed of people working in or interested in natural resource management.  Following several months of feeling God's prompting, CFF was founded in January 1973 by Dr. Dennis (Denny) Lynch and his wife Joyce.  It began simply as a continental breakfast meeting with students and faculty of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, Colorado State University.  Soon after the first meeting forestry professionals from local agencies joined the meetings.  Every Thursday morning from 1973 until 1997 the breakfast began with prayer, singing, a devotional brought by a member of the group or an invited speaker.  In addition, there were one-on-one discipleship training times for men, women, and couples, evening Bible studies,  prayer times, pizza parties, graduation dinners, and retreats to the mountains for hiking or ski-touring.  On Denny’s retirement as Professor Emeritus of Forest Sciences from CSU, the regular Thursday morning breakfasts ended.  However, former students and professionals adopted the idea and CFF branched out to other areas for Bible studies and prayer times with fellow employees.  Other University groups were started by faculty in other states.  Some former graduate students and visiting faculty started similar groups in places as far away as Korea.  Professional forestry organizations, particularly in the South, have consistently held meetings for Christian foresters at state and regional meetings.  Each year a CFF breakfast or lunch is held at the National Convention of the Society of American Foresters.

The focus of CFF remains centered on the Lord Jesus Christ rather than any individual.  There was never any attempt to form a formal organization or create a staff.  The vision was for individual foresters to love and serve others and create their own local Christian ministry.  CFF continues to be committed to assisting interested foresters with their ministry.  Our mission is to see God establish faithful men and women in every forest area of the world.  You can be a part of what God is doing!
